Acne-prone skin 40+: therapy for inflammatory lesions, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and acne scars
Indications
Frequent purulent lesions, deep inflammatory elements in the lower third of the face and neck, blackheads, severe keratinization, redness, skin reactivity, persistent post-inflammatory spots, and acne scars.
Case description
This case involves mature skin with active acne, where inflammatory lesions were primarily concentrated on the lower part of the face and neck. Demodicosis was not confirmed, and hormonal background was stable. Gastroenterological problems were noted in the patient's history. Previous home care was incorrectly chosen, so the therapeutic plan was combined with a full correction of the skincare routine.
Treatment protocol (3 stages over a year)
- Stage 1: Comodex — 3 procedures every 4–5 weeks. Goal: reduction of active inflammatory lesions, normalization of keratinization.
- Stage 2: Rose de Mer Peel — 1 procedure 2 weeks after Comodex. Work on skin texture, fading of post-inflammatory spots, reduction of scars.
- Stage 3: Comodex — 3 procedures every 5–6 weeks, 30 days after the peel. Consolidation of effects and stabilization.
Home care
- Comodex Clean & Clear Cleanser — cleansing for problematic skin.
- Comodex Purify & Balance Toner — supports skin balance.
- Comodex Mattify & Protect Cream SPF 15 — daily protection and mattifying.
- Comodex Renew & Repair Night Treatment — night care supporting renewal.
- Comodex Correct & Prevent Gel — spot application on lesions.
Result
After the first stage, the number of breakouts decreased by approximately 50%, skin tone became more even, and redness appeared less frequently. After the Rose de Mer stage — reduction of acne scars and fading of spots. After the third stage, the skin was significantly clearer, calmer, and more predictable.
