Gallic rose extract (Rosa Gallica) is one of the oldest ingredients in Mediterranean cosmetology, valued for its soothing and regenerating action. Rich in polyphenols, flavonoids and natural essential oils that effectively reduce inflammation, redness and irritation. It strengthens blood vessels, which is why it works excellently in the care of vascular skin, couperose and sensitive complexions prone to reactivity. It additionally hydrates, restores comfort and gives the complexion a fresh, healthy appearance. Ideal for everyday care of sensitive, redness-prone skin.

In vitro studies show that Gallic rose extracts exhibit anti-inflammatory action comparable to 1% hydrocortisone (Park et al., 2019). 22% reduction in TEWL after 4 weeks of use (clinical study, n=42).

Mechanism of action

Polyphenols (gallotannins, glucosides) inhibit elastase and collagenase enzymes responsible for the breakdown of the skin's structural proteins. Flavonoids strengthen capillary walls by stabilizing microcirculation.
