Where does proper and effective care begin? From determining your skin type. Only then can you anticipate the needs of your skin, which will reward you with a flawless, young and well-groomed appearance. It is based on your skin type that we can choose the best cosmetics and create a daily care routine. How can we do this?
There are four basic skin types: normal, dry, oily and combination. To determine yours, analyze basic parameters such as moisture level, sebum production and reaction to external stimuli.
Normal skin
Don't you notice any skin problems? Is your complexion uniform in color, healthy in appearance, and adequately moisturized? You are one of the lucky owners of normal skin. It will respond well to most cosmetics, but the most important thing is not to disturb its proper functioning with too aggressive ingredients. So focus on moisturizing, maintaining the natural hydrolipid balance, sun protection, cleansing, and toning, thanks to which the skin will better absorb active ingredients. Also, use a gentle peeling once a week.
Dry skin
Dry skin is most easily recognized by its dull color, flaking, roughness, and feeling of tightness. Wrinkles appear earlier on such skin due to sebum deficiency. In skin care, focus primarily on intensive moisturizing. Cleanse your skin with alcohol-free cosmetics so as not to increase the feeling of dryness. Make sure that the products have a composition rich in hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and natural oils. Use serums and nourishing creams that regenerate the protective barrier and protect against external factors, especially in winter. Moisturizing masks will also bring relief to dry and tense skin.
Oily skin
Excessive sebum production, annoying shine and a greasy film, frequent imperfections in the form of pimples or blackheads? When caring for oily skin, focus on controlling sebum and preventing imperfections. It is important not to dry out the skin, because the effect will be the opposite of the expected one. Washing gels with salicylic acid, enzymatic peels and products with niacinamide will work great. Avoid cosmetics with heavy formulas. Choose light creams and emulsions that will not clog pores. Remember about sun protection!
Combination skin
Combination skin combines the features of oily and dry skin. The T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) has excessive sebum secretion, while the rest of the face tends to dry out. Combination skin is difficult to care for because it requires a balance of moisture and thorough cleansing. It is worth using different cosmetics depending on the zone: cleanse the T-zone with cosmetics that regulate sebum secretion, while moisturizing the rest of the face. Masks that deeply cleanse the T-zone are ideal. Creams should have a light consistency, those in the form of a gel or emulsion will work great, which will gently protect the hydrolipid barrier. Don't forget about regular exfoliation.
Remember to always be flexible in addition to following the above tips – skin needs change depending on the season, body condition and external conditions. Always observe your complexion closely and effectively respond to its current needs.
