Concentration 3-15% (oil phase)

Shea butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) is a natural fat obtained from the nuts of the karité tree (Vitellaria paradoxa), which grows in the savannahs of West Africa. Exceptionally rich in active cosmetic ingredients: vitamins A, E and F, fatty acids (oleic, stearic), phytosterols and triterpenes with strong regenerative action. It forms a protective film on the skin that prevents water loss and shields against environmental factors. It is anti-inflammatory, regenerating and smoothing — ideal for the care of dry, crack-prone, atopic and irritated skin. It also stimulates collagen synthesis and has anti-age properties, making it well suited to products for mature skin.

Ceramides are a complex of lipids that occur naturally in the stratum corneum of the epidermis, where together with cholesterol and fatty acids they form the intercellular cement — the fundamental structure of the skin's protective barrier. They make up about 50% of epidermal lipids, and their level drops drastically with age (by 30% after the age of 30) and under the influence of environmental factors, leading to a weakened barrier and dry, sensitive skin. Ceramide supplementation in cosmetics replenishes deficiencies, rebuilds the intercellular cement, prevents transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and soothes reactivity. It effectively strengthens atopic, allergic and sensitive skin, as well as skin suffering from barrier disorders (e.g. after retinoids, acids or treatments). It is one of the most fundamental ingredients in modern cosmetology — an essential element of every good skincare routine.
