Ceramides are lipids of the stratum corneum that, together with cholesterol and fatty acids, form the intercellular cement of the skin barrier. They make up about 50% of epidermal lipids, and their amount falls with age. In cosmetics they replenish the barrier, limit water loss and reduce skin sensitivity, including after acids, retinoids and treatments.

Mechanism of action

Store Christina products at room temperature (15–25°C), away from direct sunlight and heat sources. After opening, the product retains its full efficacy for the period marked with the PAO symbol (e.g. 12M = 12 months) on the packaging. Products with active vitamins (C, retinol) should be stored away from light.
